Avon, OH (May 15, 2019) – The Southern Illinois Miners trailed two separate times in their game on Wednesday against the Lake Erie Crushers, but came back both times, then went ahead for good on Anthony Brocato’s RBI single in the top of the ninth inning in a 5-3 win at Sprenger Stadium, evening their midweek series at one game apiece. Brett Siddall got the Miners in front early against Lake Erie ace Alex Romero, hitting a solo home run out to right-center field in the first inning for a 1-0 lead. The Crushers would respond with two outs against Chase Cunningham in the bottom of the second, as Emmanuel Marrero homered, Sebastian Diaz doubled, and Bryan De La Rosa singled to bring in two runs and make it 2-1 Crushers.
