Durham, N.C. — Trois-Rivières Aigles 3B Taylor Brennan was named as the league’s Player of the Year on Saturday, after being chosen in a vote of league managers and media members. Brennan’s offensive exploits have helped to propel the Aigles to a playoff berth and the franchise’s best season. Through Friday’s games, his 32 home runs are second-most in league history. The Edmonds, Wash., native also leads the league with 82 RBI, a .588 slugging percentage, 42 extra-base hits and 67 walks, is second with 190 total bases and is fourth with 65 runs scored. His 82 RBI are also a Trois-Rivières franchise record. The 26-year-old has been particularly lethal against lefthanded pitching in 2018, hitting .431 with ten round-trippers and a 1.039 slugging percentage in 51 at-bats. Brennan is in his first full season with the Aigles, joining the team in August 2017 after being traded from New Jersey. Prior to his season and a half with the Jackals, he spent parts of five seasons in the Milwaukee Brewers organization after being chosen in the 37th round of the 2012 draft out of Edmonds (Wash.)
