ROBICHAUX NEARLY NO-HITS CLEBURNE TO EARN PITCHER OF THE WEEK

MOORHEAD, MN- The official statistician of the American Association, Pointstreak, has announced that Lincoln Saltdogs’ RHP Austin Robichaux (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Pitcher of the Week for the week ending August 26. In his lone start of the week on August 23, Robichaux had a no-hit bid broken up with two-outs in the bottom of the ninth. The righty’s near masterpiece came in a 2-0 complete game shutout against the Cleburne Railroaders in which he managed to strikeout nine while walking none. Robichaux also hit two batters in the start. The Louisiana Lafayette product began his professional career in 2014 after being drafted in the 18th round of the MLB Draft by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. Robichaux spent four seasons in the Angels’ system, reaching triple-A in 2017 where he made three starts and went 1-0 with a 3.29 ERA over 13.2 innings of work.
