Photo Credit: Rockland Boulders DURHAM, NC- The official statistician of the Can-Am League, Pointstreak, has announced that Rockland Boulders OF Mike Montville (pictured) has been named this week’s Pointstreak Player of the Week for the week ending August 19. Montville went 9-for-24 (.375) at the plate this week, but a whopping seven of his nine hits were home runs. He drove in 13 runs for the Boulders this week in helping the club to four wins. His week began with a Tuesday doubleheader against the New Jersey Jackals, and was 3-for-3 with a pair of home runs, four RBI, and three runs scored in a 13-10 win in a game one slugfest. Montville drew a walk in a hitless game two as New Jersey salvaged a split of the twinbill. Montville hit another long ball on Wednesday night in the series finale against the Jackals, part of a two-hit night in which he scored two runs. On Thursday, Rockland opened a home series against the Ottawa Champions, and Montville’s bat stayed hot. He hit another two home runs in the series opener, driving in four of Rockland’s six runs.
