Washington Wild Things starting pitcher Chase Cunningham and River City Rascal infielder Paul Kronenfeld were named Frontier League Player and Pitcher of the Week, respectively as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation. Paul Kronenfeld earned his second player of the week honors, also won July 18, 2016 (Schaumburg). Kronenfeld helped lead the Rascals to a 4-2 record over the last week while hitting safely in all six games. Over the last six games Kronenfeld posted a .583 average while notching 14 his, one double, six home runs and 15 runs batted in. Making his first appearance in the Frontier League in 2016 with Schaumburg, Kronenfeld spent the beginning of the 2017 away from the Frontier League before joining the River City Rascals on July 14, 2017. Kronenfeld was drafted out of Belmont University in the 25th round of the 2014 MLB draft by the Cincinnati Reds. The Greensboro, North Carolina native has posted a .269 batting average over his career while collecting 307 hits, 74 doubles, 45 home runs and 196 runs batted in.
