JOLIET, IL- The Traverse City Beach Bums(37-46) gave up just four hits in tonight’s game on their way to a 4-1 win over the Joliet Slammers(47-36) Joliet picked up the first run of the game, in the first inning, on a Danny Zardon RBI single, as Connor Oliver’s throw from centerfield was just shy of nabbing him. Isaac Benard and Will Kengor led off the fourth inning with back-to-back doubles, with the second tying the game up at one. Luke Lowery followed with a walk and Connor Oliver singled to load the bases. Kendall Patrick ripped a single into left field, scoring Kengor, for a 2-1 Bums lead. In the fifth, Josh Hauser reached on an error then moved to second on an Orlando River sacrifice bunt. After Benard reached on a second error, moving Hauser to third, Kengor hit an RBI single to double the Traverse City lead. The Beach Bums added an insurance run in the seventh when Orlando Rivera and Benard singled, then three batters later, Oliver hit an RBI single, driving in Rivera.
