JULY 2 LEAGUE RECAP Photo Courtesy: Marc Lafleur/Ottawa Champions Ottawa 8, Rockland 3 – Box Score Ottawa jumped out to a 5-0 lead after two innings of play and would cruise from there to an 8-3 victory over Rockland. The Champions banged out 14 hits in the contest with every batter in the lineup collecting at least one. Ottawa SS and Player of the Week Daniel Bick (pictured)went 4-for-6 with a triple, a run scored and three RBIs while DH Sebastien Boucher scored a pair of runs and drove in one in a 2-for-4 night. Right fielder Steve Brown also chipped in his fourth home run on the season, a two-run shot in the first inning. Starting pitcher Edilson Alvarez picked up his first victory of the season with the Champions. For Rockland in the losing effort, 2B Jared McDonald went 1-for-3 with two runs scored. Sussex County 5, New Jersey 3 – Box Score Sussex County LF Connor Crane hit a two-out, two-run single in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a 3-3 tie and beat New Jersey by a 5-3 score.
