JUNE 29 LEAGUE RECAP Photo Courtesy: Quebec Capitales Quebec 5, Sussex County 2 – Box Score Quebec continued to play solid baseball as they notched their fifth straight win in a 5-2 decision over Sussex County. The Capitales scored single runs in the second, third and fourth innings to jump ahead 3-0 and would cruise from there to take game one in a battle of the league’s top two teams. Center fielder Kalian Sams (pictured) led the offense for Quebec going 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Capitales LF James McOwen also added a blast in a 2-for-3 night while 3B Brad Antchak doubled and drove in a run. Quebec starting pitcher Jay Johnson tossed five shutout innings to pick-up his first win of the season. Johnson allowed six hits while striking out seven batters in a 79-pitch performance. The bullpen trio of Andrew Elliott, Trevor Bayless and Nolan Becker gave up a pair of runs in the final four innings of the contest with Becker earning his fifth save.
