Washington’s Roa and Traverse City’s Desguin Win Weekly Awards

Washington Wild Things outfielder Hector Roa and Traverse City Beach Bums starting pitcher Jordan Desguin were named Frontier League Players and Pitcher of the Week, respectively as chosen by Pointstreak, the official statistical provider of the Frontier League and the Independent Professional Baseball Federation.   Hector Roa earned his honors this week following an impressive performance at the plate where he batted .462 with twelve hits three homeruns and ten runs batted in while posting a .808 slugging percentage. Roa helped lead Washington to a 4-2 record this past week as well as a 22-11 record overall which is atop the East Division   Hector made his professional debut after being signed as a free agent by the Houston Astros in 2012. In his five years in the Astros organization, Roa advanced as high as the Quad City River Bandits. The Camden, New Jersey native has posted career numbers of .249 while notching 360 hits, 55 homeruns and 207 runs batted in.   Jordan Desguin earned his honor following a 3-1 win over the River City Rascals. Desguin went 9.0 innings allowing one earned run and surrendering one hit while striking out eight batters. Desguin is 4-0 on the season…
