EVANSVILLE, Ind. – Thanks to a Travis Harrison grand slam, the Evansville Otters beat the Gateway Grizzlies 4-2 in the second game of their series on Wednesday at Bosse Field in front of 1,754 fans. A Trae Santos single in the top of the first inning scored Artemis Kadkhodian to give the Grizzlies a 1-0 lead. Gateway doubled their lead in the second on a Kevin Martir RBI single. The Otters mounted a late rally in the eighth. With one out, Ryan Long began the charge with a sharp single to right. David Cronin then walked, and after a Toby Thomas fly out to left, Jeff Gardner walked to load the bases. On an 0-1 pitch, Travis Harrison drilled a home run, his third of the year, over the left field wall for a grand slam, putting the Otters up 4-2. Mitch Aker came on to shut the door in the ninth, recording two strike outs en route to his league leading eighth save of the season.
