TRAVERSE CITY, MI- The Traverse City Beach Bums’(6-7) offense came to life thanks to big performances from Arby Fields, Steve Lohr, and Isaac Benard, as they defeated the Evansville Otters(7-6) by an 8-4 score. After a scoreless first inning, Steve Lohr led off the second with a double to left. Two batters later, he scored on a Donald Glover Jr. single to make it 1-0. In the top of fourth, the Otters’ Jeff Gardner hit a solo homer to tie the game but the Beach Bums regained the lead in the bottom of the inning as Lohr and Isaac Benard led off with singles then Arby Fields drove in Lohr with a single to right, making it 2-1. In the fifth, Will Kengor led off by reaching second on an error then moved to third when Alexis Rivera grounded out. Lohr picked up the RBI with a single to score Kengor, extended the lead to two. Isaac Benard followed and blasted a two-run shot over the wall in right, putting an exclamation point on the inning, making it 5-1.
