TRAVERSE CITY, MI The Traverse City Beach Bums have named former major-league pitcher, Greg Cadaret, pitching coach for the 2018 Frontier League season. Greg returns to the Cherry Capital in the same role he served in during the 2014 and 2015 seasons. During that time, the Beach Bums pitching staff had an earned run average of 3.89 which was fifth in the Frontier League over the two years. Bums pitchers also struck out 1,157 batters while walking 596. The staff allowed 100 less walks in Cadarets second season, showing great improvement, as he helped guide the team to the 2015 Frontier League Championship. Cadaret spent 10 years as a pitcher in the major leagues with the As, Yankees, Reds, Royals, Blue Jays, Tigers, Angels, and Rangers. He had a record of 38-32, as both a starter and a reliever, with an ERA of 3.99, 539 strikeouts, and 14 saves. He won a Northwest League title in 1983 with the Medford As and, in 1988 with Oakland, made four appearances in the post-season, three in the World Series, and had a 3.86 ERA.
